Does rotating lose quality?

A rotation re-encodes the image, so a JPEG loses a small amount each time. Right-angle turns will become lossless in a later release; PNG and WEBP are unaffected either way.

Why is my photo already upright before I rotate it?

Phone cameras record the orientation as EXIF metadata instead of turning the pixels. We apply that once, so what you see is what the file actually contains.

Can I rotate an animated GIF?

By 180°, yes — every frame is kept. Turning an animation on its side needs each frame rotated separately, which is not supported yet.

Can I turn each photo a different way in one batch?

Yes. Set an angle for the whole batch, then override any individual photo that needs something else — a set of scans where three are upside down and one is on its side comes back correct in a single pass.

Can I straighten a photo by a few degrees?

Drag the angle slider to any value, not just the right angles. The picture is rendered at full resolution and the corners left over are filled with a colour you choose, since a rotated rectangle no longer fits its own frame.

How long are my files kept?

Two hours. Both the images and the record of your task are deleted automatically after that; there are no accounts and nothing is kept longer.
